Appearance:
Arthur stands at roughly five feet, nine inches with short red hair that mysteriously spikes upward. Plastered on his face is a seemingly indestructible grin that boasts of audacity. Wrapped around his neck is a long blue scarf which flaps dramatically in the wind, and flops pathetically otherwise, a memento of his home and family. Shortly after joining the resistance he came upon a pair of eye protecting sun wear, which he now rarely removes except in the dark. For clothing he wears a red shirt and black pants with sandals.
Personality:
Arthur is more of a force of nature than an individual. His soul burns with an endless fire and his blood burns just as hot. With determination far outstripping his hold on reason, he throws himself into whatever is laid before him without hesitation. Whether it be battle, farming, or even sleeping, everything he does is with maximum effort. In battle he fights like a crazed berserker, holding nothing back and attacking with abandon, throwing reason to the curb and trusting his gut instincts to lead him to victory. Because of this he tends to forgo any ranged weaponry, preferring instead to "fight like a man" and take to battle with fists or any other object he can use to smash, slash, batter, or skewer.
In his more calmer periods, Arthur is a surprisingly thoughtful individual, putting the needs of others before himself and lending his aid wherever he can. He holds himself to a code of honor, choosing never to betray comrades or abandon the innocent to a dark fate. He's also fairly forgiving of those who wrong him, though only to a certain degree: he will never forgive those who intentionally betray or harm himself or others. He's also a fan of poetry, though in an odd example of restraint it's more of a private interest. In his down time he writes heroic stories and poems about people he knows. He also has a love of reading, specifically fantasy and mythology, which fits well with his active imagination and inspires his actions.
In truth, much of Arthur's theatrics are inspired by a desire to bring joy to others. Seeing and hearing of so much destruction and despair since joining the resistance, Arthur has taken it upon himself to try and ease the burden of those around him. Calling upon his childhood antics, Arthur speaks with as much theatricality as he can muster, speaking dramatically and archaically. He acts ignorant of his surroundings and acts like a love-struck fool when dealing with women. Though he willingly acts the fool, there are times when Arthur acts with the seriousness one would expect when it is appropriate.
That said, he is a legitimate shameless flirt. One of the driving forces behind him joining the resistance was his dream of being worshiped by countless women across the land as a hero. His lecherous tendencies have caused him much trouble and more than once he has been used and manipulated by Valerie Hart in her schemes in the past, never once getting close to "the prize". His general obliviousness to his surroundings is genuine, but he tends to play it up for the sake of humor.
Arthur has a curious blend of good and bad luck. The worst things always happen to him, but he somehow comes out on top and better off than he was before. His parents attributed it to some kind of "divine bad luck". Either the gods are against him, or they're rooting for him. Nobody is certain.

History:
Arthur was born in Sun Village, a small place atop the mountains that always bore sunny weather and a strong breeze. Growing up, he got into all sorts of trouble acting out whatever fantasy struck his imagination. From chasing bears to enacting a heroic dual to the death as a loyal knight who defended justice. When puberty hit him, his adventures only grew bolder as he tried to earn the adoration of women. One day, during his latest misadventure of trying to spy on the local bathing pool, the tree he was using snapped from the weight and he tumbled down the mountainside. Miraculously, his fall was broken by more trees. Uncertain of how to return, Arthur began a new adventure, exploring the world below and winning the unyielding love of the women who would come to adore him.
Naturally, he was homeless, broke, and hungry within a week. It would have been curtains for him if not a single ray of hope that had shone down upon him. Witnessing a shifty group kidnapping a young woman, Arthur rushed to her aid with a wooden stick in hand. Engaged in a valiant and heroic battle, Arthur woke up from unconsciousness (he had tripped into a bandit's punch) to find the woman had saved herself, taking down her captors with ease.
Learning her name was Valerie, Arthur decided to join her in her noble quest of "serving the needy." Never realizing she actually meant herself and only herself. Facing dastardly villains (innocent village guards) while she recovered their pilfered supplies (village grown food and money), his life was filled with adventure and excitement. That is until Valerie mysteriously vanished after promising him the "ultimate reward" out of gratitude for his services.
Confused and uncertain of what to do next, Arthur was left to ponder his options. That night, giant mechanical monsters descended upon a local village. Determined to help, he rushed head first into the fires of the burning village, rescuing three children and their parents before making his escape, suffering severe burns for his efforts. Shortly after a small resistance scouting group stumbled upon them, giving him medical treatment and taking him to the resistance for recovery. Learning more about them, he decided this was a noble cause and he volunteered. He was ecstatic to later discover Valerie had also found her way to the resistance, thrilled that once again they could pursue justice with beautiful women adoring him.
