I am thinking about adding jobs to the characters. Jobs are what the character does, not just in combat, but around the base as well. Each job will be given a combat bonus and a non combat bonus.
Mechanic. These are the people who keep your suit repaired and the base in good shape. They are good with machines, not just combat, but the inside of the machines as well.
Non Combat bonus: Can cause a reroll of one salvage attempt out of every 5 attempts for the salvage of items.
Combat: Field Maintenance: when an enemy makes a successful sunder or crippling blow attack, make a redirection roll using your reaction in place of your shield bonus. On a successful roll, the damage is halved. If a mechanic's ranged weapon would be destroyed by fumble, it is instead jammed for 2 rounds
