A mission is any event where characters are sent out to achieve a certain objective. Missions may be combat, negotiation, or any other task required of the group. Some missions may lead directly into another. Any mission, regardless of type, may only have up to three characters. In some cases more are allowed to participate but for the majority of missions only three characters.
All mission types count towards specialization and/or evolution/enhancement unlocking.
These are the current mission types:
Scout: Investigate an enemy force or fortification or some other subject of note. May or may not lead into any of the three other mission types. Action Skills tend to come into play for these and may determine or change the outcome of the mission.
Combat: Defeat X number of enemies. Likely to include a boss fight. Action Skills are usable, but unlikely to be important. Combat missions offer the opportunity for salvage.
Diplomacy: Seek out and establish negotiation or communication with another group or individual. Success may grant credit rewards and other potential boons. Will require the use of action skills.
Treasure Seek: Seek out or recover a lost treasure. This treasure could be information, technology, equipment, or even an entire Vault. Action skills tend to come into use for these types of missions.
