Specialty Upgrades:
- Specialty upgrades rarely grant direct bonuses to offensive stats, instead offering unique and specialized bonuses depending on terrain and combat methods.
- Specialty Upgrades cost a universal price of 175 x Tier
- A Mobile Suit can have up to four separate specialty upgrades installed onto a single mobile suit.
- Improved Motors
Effect: Increases mobile suit weight capacity by one stage (ie a light unit’s weight capacity of 20 is shifted to a medium’s weight capacity of 30). This also affects a mobile suits weight capacity bonus to ER. - Ammo Storage
Effect: Installs an additional compartment to carry extra ammunition for the mobile suit's weaponry, allowing an additional Reload. - Reinforced Limbs
Effect: Reinforces the mobile suit’s limbs for unarmed combat and brawling. Allows the mobile suit to equip certain weapon upgrades to their unarmed strikes. For weight purposes, unarmed strikes are treated as integrated light weapons weighing 2 each. This means the default weight does not affect the mobile suits weight capacity and cannot be reduced, but any additional weight (such as from a size increase) will be counted. “Sub-weapon” upgrades cannot be equipped. - Weapon Rack
Effect: Allows the equipment of either the Weapon Container or Parachute Pack - Heat Proofing
Effect: While not immune to heat-based weapons nor advised to take a lava bath, the mobile suit is nonetheless properly equipped to handle heat-intensive environments. Adds the Volcanic terrain and reduces fire-based damage from the environment by half. - Mountain Gear
Effect: While most mobile suits are capable of working on solid ground, this equipment specifically addresses uneven and unstable terrain with weight adjustments and finely tuned changes to leg actuators. Adds the Rocky Terrain. - Thermal Jets
Effect: Adds the Hover ability, granting a +2 bonus to all Move actions. Heavy mobile suits have their ER set to 10. You can spend one swift action to set the jets to full power, negating any terrain benefits but granting +2 ER for one turn (+1 for heavy suits). - Nanomachine Camo
Effect: Nanites coat the uppermost layer of your machine. They offer no defensive nor restorative benefits, but can alter the color of your mobile on the fly. You can spend one action to alter your mobile suits color to match the terrain, granting a +3 bonus on your next Stealth attempt. - Thermal Sensors
Effect: Sensors installed in the mobile suit that focus on detection based on heat output rather than direct visual sight. Gain +2 Perception to detect stealthed enemies (barring specific countermeasures). If ambushed by an enemy wielding a heat or beam-type weapon, the penalty for being ambushed is negated. - Reinforced Joints
Weight: +5
Effect: The joints of your mobile suit have been reinforced with strategically placed armor. The health damage threshold required for a successful crippling blow against your suit increases to 40(xTier). - Aerodynamic Frame
Effect: The frame and armor of your mobile suit has been further adjusted for aerial mobility. Reduce durability by 25(xTier) and weight capacity by 5. In exchange gain +1 to Evasion Rating and Charge/Disengage attempts in aerial and aquatic environments.
SPECIAL: Cannot be equipped to a suit without flight or aquatic capabilities. - Specialized Munitions (Ranged Weaponry)
Weight: +(Varies)
Effect: Rather than altering a weapons design to fire a particular type of ammo, some choose to carry limited amounts of specialized ammunition instead. Choose a ranged weapon type and a secondary damage type; when wielding a physical ranged weapon of the chosen type, you can replace its normal ammo with your specialized munitions. This gives your weapon the chosen secondary damage type until you have to reload. You can replace your default ammunition without first having to reload, but must still spend the same number of actions as if you were reloading. Due to the extra ammo, you gain +1 reload capacity.
SPECIAL: Specialized Munitions stack, but each additional pack takes up +1 weight. - Anti-Ground Sensors
Effect: Gain +2 Perception against ground-based and subterranean mobile suits. If ambushed by a ground-based or subterranean enemy mobile suit, the penalty for being ambushed is negated. - Lorenzini Sensors
Effect: Automatically succeed on Perception checks against enemy units in Stealth while underwater. - Combat Visor
Effect: Reduce the damage of the first Called Attack targeting your unit's head by (15 x Tier). Head mounted vulcans are disabled when equipped with the Combat Visor. - Grounded Specialization
Effect: Removes Space and Sky terrains from a mobile suit and replaces them with Ground+. The mobile suit must have Ground terrain to use this upgrade. Does not stack with other terrain upgrades. - Cold Treatment
Effect: Installs heaters around the mobile suit's drive systems to prevent freezing. Adds Frost terrain to mobile suit. Does not stack with other terrain upgrades. - Desert Treatment:
Effect: Treats the mobile suit with anti-dust protection around the joints and ventilation. Adds Desert terrain to mobile suit. Does not stack with other terrain upgrades. - Smoke Dischargers
Smoke dischargers equipped onto the mobile suit's frame. These can cover the area in a thick cloud of smoke, allowing for stealth, ambush, and hit-and-run tactics.
Effect: The MS enters Stealth for a variable number of turns. Pilot performs a 10-range roll. The number of turns in Stealth is determined by the number rolled. Stealth is canceled if hit.- 1-3: 1 turn
- 4-7: 2 turns
- 8-10: 3 turns
- Auto Loader
Installs mechanisms into a mobile suit's body that can reload integrated and mounted weapons independent of pilot input at the cost of being somewhat slower.
Effect: Converts Reload Action count for integrated and mounted weapons into a Reload duration. Will only reload weapons designated by pilot as a free action.
Example: One action reload becomes a one turn reload.
